RenaultSport badge fiasco!!!! :(

  320d M Sport

right then, as you probably know my badge (renosport) is stuck on wonky. REnault have said this isnt covered by warranty so Ive paid £22 for a new badge kit (2 peice, RENAULT + SPORT).

Problem is the Reanult badge has pins in where its supposed to click into your boot, only the 172 doesnt have pre drilled holes, theyre all stuck on!! Renault have basically shrugged their shoulders as the one Ive got is the only one they supply. Theyve sent me on my way and told me to gring the pins off, cut some sticky pads up, put pads on back of badge and attempt to line the badge up!

What do u lot make of this? I think the rest of the clio range have holes but the 172 doesnt!?

If i follow the "plan" how do i make sure that i stick it on straight?

Pretty cack this aint it.......:(

  Hippys bus of LOVE !!!

Thatll look (s**t) well bad

So if your head light was fitted wonky would that too not be covered by your warrenty ?

I dont think theres a Renault badge on the back of any of the other Clios, just 172/Cup/V6. The others all just say Clio on the right hand side. Id try what they suggested - those sticky pads are pretty good.

yeah theres no doubt itll stick on, on the pads are very thin so in theory shouldnt be any different than the factory ones. if i do it i just hope i can stick it on properly.

  320d M Sport

it will be stuck on, but if u tried to order one from reno it comes with 3 pins?!???? its stupid!

  Renault Laguna Coupe

Just as well you didnt order it for supply and fitting by the dealer - youd have 3 holes in the car by now!

  320d M Sport

apparently they never knew they were different and they swore blind that my car would have holes.....until I made them go out and look at the car!! Useless!!

I would return them to the dealer as they are not the item that you requested.

I also would make renault fix the damn badge, its obviosly faulty in such that its squint. you dont exactly need a spirit level to tell that.

1) warranty doesnt cover for it - thats their opinion.. i would have a very different LOUD opinion to tell them about.

2) thats the only bdage that u can buy from reno its obviosly not the only one they make though cause the one on my car wont have any holes either.

why isnt it covered by warranty!!!? are you supposed to have travelled at light speed and it shifted due to that? Warranty are good upto a point but its when we get to these items that i begin to have my doubts......concerning, especially over just a badge! maybe try a different garage? or debadge it all together?

  320d M Sport

think a letter to them is on the cards.......... warranty doesnt cover for it after 1 year, even though it was Jean Claude in Dieppe who stuck it on when he was pished!!

Paddy, When i ordered the same renaultsport badge they were both backed with black sticky foam - how else do they expect us to fit them - it shouldnt be a DIY job with glue etc - create a fuss!

  320d M Sport

Cupsize u sure?

Which Reno was that? the one is was with today rung the UK Supplier, the one they gave me is the ONLY one in the UK they reckon (theres only 1 part number-he showed me)? starting to loose all faith in renault now......

if you are willing to stick the new badge on with tape then why not just restick the old badge on the same way and return the new one

spirit level ? or is that being stupid. ? make sure you car is parked on flat ground first though eh..

  320d M Sport

hmm, spirit level is a bit dodgy i reckon, ground must be flat, tyres must be same... how do the bodyshops do it i wonder?

renault and clio badges on the arse are holed on the 172, the sprt badge however is not holled. Can u imagine drilling the holes for the sport badge and how many theyd have to drill especially in silver

The 98-01 Clios all had Renault on the back. Im guessing these had pins and that this is what you have been sold. From 01- onwards only the RenaultSport models have Renault badges on the back and you have discovered they are stuck on. Explain this to the pig sh*t thick ignorant dumb b******s at your local unfriendly Renault "dealership" and get them to sort it out. Fecking idiots . They dont seem to know anything about the cars they sell. Morons.

there are two different types to order, if u give em your vin number they can order the right one, they only show the old type fixings and badges. on the ren parts comp system had the same problem getting some updated side door mouldings / fornt badges.

try this one then i bet it works

  320d M Sport

ok i will, ive tried 2 different reno and they bot hgave me the same part number, werent interested in reg etc as they only had 1 part nu,ber they said? MORONS!!!!!!!!!!!

  320d M Sport

in a way though i feel sorry for the lads who work there as theyre only acting on info from RENO themselves?! think a complaint might be the only way forward, bad enough that warranty doesnt even cover it!

  Clio 200 FF

To get the badge on level

1.stick some masking tape under where the badge is to go

2.measure from bottom of boot lip to masking tape in 2 places same distance

3.draw line from one to other

4.nice straight line to stick badge just above

:)

  320d M Sport

looks like i should line it up in accordance to the red strip on the light to the left, know what i mean?

  2012 WRX Waggon

at least yours aint got a kink in the middle of it!!

I think the kit reno uses to fit them comes with a bottle of brandy (to be consumed prior to fitting!)

Paddy, if you can be arsed, go to Dutton James in St Helens, the lads in parts there are on the ball and are really helpful.....
