We all knew this was coming, what has shocked me is that it will have a cup chassis. Everyone seemed to concur that the chassis was one part that didn't needed modifying. I guessed at all the other upgrades though.

Nice colour in it's own right
But doesn't suit the 197
Stickers are minging & Halfords-esque boy racery - They'd be taken off before it left the forecourt, they are utter s***e imo

Bottom line: Not good quick enough to tempt me away from buying an Astra VXR.

I don't do track days and just want a dual carriageway drag racer. Renault just don't get it. Thats all 99% of owners do in these fecking cars, it is all people talk and brag about in pubs. The car manufacturers know this as acceleration is the only performance figure they quote (aside from mpg).

Lose the bleedin downforce and the drag that goes with it. Then increase the capacity or move to forced induction.

The 2 litre NA engine is a dead duck in a modern heavy 5 NCAP star hot hatch strangled by emissions regs. Even if they could squeeze more power out of it without breaching emissions regs or massively upping the price it would only come at the expensive of low down grunt.

I think it looks the n.uts, could do with losing the roof sticker imo, But i'd have one, recaros looks schweeeeet S.hits on a 182 and 172 cup in the looks department

It's not news as such, just guess work. But Renault have never forced the Gordini Stripes/F1 Graphics on anyone so I don't know why people assume they would start now.

If it is like the Megane they will be a no cost option.

Yeap - You may aswell just wait till they release the cup options for the normal 197 if you dont want yellow, stickers and don't care about limited numbers.

There's still a slim chance. It's bonus time in March, and the car isn't going to be out over here until after then. Trophy, plus bonus = new car. It would have to be on F & F though. Although I would be better off adding a garage to the house first.

It's still not quite enough for me to part with 007 though. It's running better than ever since the service.
