Repairing a PS3 Blue Ray reader?

Ive got a PS3 in perfect order apart from it needs a blue ray reader for it to read discs, anyone ever had a crack at replacing one?

Its going up for sale once its repaired, any ideas..?

Just replaced mine yesterday, it's a fairly tricky repair tbh, just watch some of the vids on Youtube before you attempt it.

Also this vid is invaluable as you have a 50/50 chance of reassembling then not being able to load/eject discs.

P.S. I paid £40 for my new laser, Sony wanted £130 for the repair.

Hmmm, looks like more hassle than i can be arsed with.

I may just get it fixed by someone who knows what to do
