Repairing the leather on my steering wheel?

The bottom of my steering wheel (Phase 1 Vee) was dirty and pretty sticky so I cleaned it up. The thing is, where I've cleaned it, I scuffed it up  the leather is no longer flat, it looks like I've taken the top layer off :(

How can I sort this?

The wheel never looked that nice at the bottom even when I got it (I bought a re trimmed one, but only the grey band had been done, not the dark blue bottom part)
Can a trimmer do me a piece of leather? Or is it time for a smaller wheel? But as the car's un touched, I don't really fancy that:S

  V6 255, 172's, JCW,
Just get it re-trimmed by 'Snappy' or 'Royal Steering Wheels' Craig. I have the Snappy wheel from Dan's v6 (Iridium) on the 172, it's a great job, and very OEM'esque with leather instead of alcantara.

So any way, back to me - any suggestions? I don't want the whole wheel re trimmed.

Snappy will be able to un-pick the blue part and replace it.

I sent him some leather from an old rear bench i have to ensure it was a total match and it came out looking great. If you need a square too mate, can chuck some in the post for you.
