Replacing Front + Rear Brakes....any issues??

  172 Cup SOLD
Replacing the front and rear brakes hopefully this week and wondered whether there would be any common issues or problems that arise that I should be aware of.

The following is what I have sitting at home waiting to change.

Front

Brembo Max Discs
Red Stuff Pads
Goodridge lines with Stainless Fitting

Rear

OE Pads, bearings and Discs
Goodridge lines with Stainless Fitting

Thanks

be careful when you do the rear lines, brake fluid in yer eye hurts

also be careful when installing the lines, its easy to cross thread the unions

are your rears fully assembled?

front discs you will have to smack the f**k out of them to get them off (large hammer)

Errrrrm I got, and I quote a "box with the discs and drums" in then "bearing parts" in 2 other small boxes, 1 for each side, and pads

you need to find somewhere that has a bearing press, will only take them 10min to press them in

you'll need to get your ABS rings off your old discs too (blow torch will do that)

Cheers fella....are the lines easy enough to replace with the braided ones?

Someone I know had some problems removing them

yeah you can round off the unions if you're using an 11mm and a 14mm spanner

you "should" use a proper 7/16ths (i think) union spanner

but as long as you soak the unions with WD40 for a good hour or so before you start you should be ok, make sure your 11mm spanner is good quality
