Golf GT & A4 Avant
Has anyone done the above to a 3door ? What are your thoughts?
I don't play my music as loud as it will go but I do like it to sound good. I've always noticed that the sound stage is very much set to the front, with front and rear fade set equal, to the point where I don't really notice anything coming from the rear speakers.
On a long journey at the weekend in the back of a clio I noticed that although you can just hear something coming from the rear speakers, it is hugely drowned out by the usual road noise and the front speakers.
My thoughts were to replace them with a half decent set of components (nothing special as the head unit doesn't exactly put out alot of power) hide the crossovers inside the rear interior wings and mount the tweeter close to where the seat joins the plastic panels under the side window?
just an idea as I thought it might create a better sound stage, as long as they don't over power the fronts obviously.
