Replicating iPad screen/audio on screen/home threatre?

As above really, Sarah bought me the new one for my 30th and considering ive only just worked out how to put music on my iPod via iTunes, i need a little advice.

Ive got a 50" lcd TV with all the modern connections, Sony home cinema (5 speakers & sub), then Kef speakers running through a seperate Denon 4 channel amp. All sound currently gets routed through the TV, so im assuming i just need to get video/audio into the TV somehow then it will distribute as per necessary ? Ive seen:

Apple TV (£99): http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_ipod/family/apple_tv
Digital AV adapter (£35): http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MD098
Composite AV Cable (£30): http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC748

Depends what you're going to want to watch on the tv really.

If it's films. Then they'll be on your computer/iTunes. So get AppleTV and skip the iPad bit.
If it's pictures. Same again.
If it's apps. Then it's a bit of a gimmick atm and unlikely you'll use it for more than once.

I want to get rid of the computer - which we currently only really use to watch movies from Blinkbox/BBC iplayer, then it also holds my music collection, so we access that via the TV screen/wireless keyboard/mouse instead of using a pc monitor.

Music is now on the iPad, and we can also use it to watch iplayer, so i thought id just need some kind of lead to get info from iPad into TV/Speakers. iPad to replace noisy old pc effectively.

Well it depends how much you store on your computer and how much you storage you have on your iPad. But doing it your way isn't something I'd recommend.

64GB storage on iPad
Maybe 10GB of music on the pc lol. Im new to all this

What do you suggest Dan, get the Apple TV thingymamob? Where would all my music be accessed from then? Could it go in this cloud thing, or is that just for storage of photos, etc. Or would all my music still be better off stored on the pc, then accessed via home sharing - think thats what i do with my iphone/music at the moment.
