missed out £20 for picking nose while car is on rollers, £80 for scratching arse while car is taken off trailer, and £380 for spending the day in the company of LAD non-beleiversQuote: Originally posted by Tomclio16v on 27 August 2003
Thank you for that information we are interested in taking up your offer but as our car is for sale please see our website for details, we may not have it then as we are now carrying out development work on our V6 Clio the results up to now are good I will keep you informed of the magazine that will test the car when finished, there are a few interested. With reference to the Rolling Road test day, we have arranged to borrow a customers car as he is away on holiday but does not wish the car to clock up nearly 500 miles round trip.I have agreed with him to bring the car down on our transporter to Power Engineering. As we have to be there at 8.30 on the 11th I will travel down on Friday and stay overnight this will not be a problem. I should just mention the cost involved as you are paying for all our expenses as stated in your invite and we appreciate this.We charge £1 per mile for the transporter, this would be £563.00 inc vat round trip and £150 for accommodation and meals this is a total of £713.00 half to be paid two weeks before and the balance on the 11th, I have not charged you for time involved and thank you once again for your invite.
Regards
Ernie Larton. L.A.D Motorsport.

All this is of course in my personal opinion, and should in no way be construed as the views of Cliosport. I am merely exercising my right to free speech.
Naa m8. Theyve just got a new RR. Full printout of your runs now and probably more accurate than the old one they used b4Quote: Originally posted by Rich-D on 27 August 2003
Well, Powerzone is near me (and you) and the RR is not the best setup and has no computer hooked up to it, so no graphs.Quote: Originally posted by Chris nnic on 27 August 2003
lol sounds like a cop out to me...."Ill ask for a load of cash then they will not bother.." Why not get one rrd up nearer them..Powerzone in Padiham, another rr in Bury.

You should really get it on the rollers first, then fit the R-Sport ECU and re-run it again to see what power & torgue gains it gives!Quote: Originally posted by Chris nnic on 28 August 2003
Not sure what system it is, but its much better than b4. If your going let me know, fitting my Rsport 2nite so I give you a spin to see what you think
Yeah, hes probably a nice guy really and he just gets a lot of bad press on the forums...Quote: Originally posted by Tomclio16v on 28 August 2003
Well that was nice of him, maybe hes not so bad............
Its called PROMOTION. This is a cliosport forum, to say very few members here would spend thier money with LAD is a joke, course people would if they could just prove thier claimed output of 200bhp.Quote: Originally posted by badgersport on 28 August 2003
Why dont you take him up on his offer to RR a standard car for free and compare it to one of their modified cars? It will give you a pretty good idea of the difference between standard and their 200 kit. If you then take the standard car to Power Engineering........ get the idea. For those of you who dont know the LAD rolling road is a straightforward power displayed on a big dial type with no computer link and therefore no easy way of doctoring the figures.
To give you a bit of background... LAD do the engine rebuilds on my rally car ( a proper Citroen Saxo kit car if your interested - <A target=_blank href= "http://www.badgermotorsport.co.ukwww.badgermotorsport.co.uk) and I know how busy they are and how far in advance I have to book an engine rebuild. Whilst it may seem a bit off asking for £7?? expenses, if you run a business that has a 4 month orderbook why would you want to treck to the other end of the country to prove the power figure of a conversion when you now that very few ( if any) of the people there would spend money with you anyway.

Well lets find out......
If LAD took their 200 bhp car to an independant rolling road and proved that it had over 200 bhp, how many of you would give them a deposit cheque on the spot?? Of course you need to own a 172 or a cup to answer.
