Resistor pack

Can I drive my car without the resistor pack on? If I send it off to be fixed

Yeah of corse. Just wont have any blowers.

Id cover the hole though so it doesnt let it water etc.

Mines packed up the same just packed up the hole. Should have the resistor back tomorrow so fingers crossed that sorts it.

I'm not sure what the problem is mate I'm not very good with cars just keep reading that's what it probably is, all the lights work an you hear a Noise behind the cc unit when you press the ac an the on off button but no air, what would you suggest????

You need to bridge pins 1 and 5 on the resistor pack plug. If your fans come on full blast, then its the resistor pack faulty.

If nothing happens still, its the blower motor. Which is what was wrong with mine. All lights and functions worked.

How do I bridge pins 1 and 5 together? Do I take the pack of first?

Yeah, just unplug the pack and put some wire between the end pins which are 1and5. This should make the fans come.on full blast. If the blower motor is working anyway.

Thank la il give it a try, can I do this with the engine running with out giving myself a shock?

Ignition off, bridge pins 1 and 5.

Turn the key, you will hopefully have the blowers come on full wack!

Really dum question I know but what type of wire do I use an is it just pushing the wire in 1 slot then the same in the other slot?

Old speaker cable etc. Anything thst can take 12v. Most cables.

I used a bit of old house plug cable.

The strange thing is the heaters worked until I took the cd player out to plug in the aerial then put it back in an the blowers weren't working? Or is that just a coincidence??

If you need a resistor pack Mick at diamond motors has my old one which he is repairing. Maybe get that one and just replace instead of sending yours off??
