To get access to the the beta, a full retail purchase of rFactor 2 is required. rFactor 2 sells for $43.99, including 18 months of online account membership instead of the 12 months buyers of the final version will receive. The licensing purchase happens within the rFactor 2 launcher as described in the installation guide.
 
It certainly has potential from the looks of it!

I'm no scenery snob - but even in this beta, it looks like they could have paid a little more attention to the crowds, etc. They just look like flat-2D images from the original GTR of 2005.

Valid point. But this is a sim not NFS ;)
 
It's why he used GTR as an example.... If it looks outdated then it looks outdated, regardless of physics.

I'll wait till the disc is out and give it a whirl.

disc? Will it ever be available on disc? Was rF 1 ever on disc?
