roller rockers coming out of position

Car  clio cup
Hi everyone! I have a Clio 2 RS race car with an F4R engine with Clio 3 cylinder head and I’m looking for help with roller rockers coming out of position.

The valvetrain setup is:

  • Cat Cams 5503431 camshafts
  • Supertech valve springs
  • Hydraulic lifters / lash adjusters
  • ITB
  • Supertech valve springs
  • forged pistons and conrod
This setup ran without any issues up to 8,500 rpm with the Clio 2 RS cylinder head. Since replacing it with a Clio 3 RS cylinder head, the rockers have started coming off at around 7,300 rpm under acceleration.

It happens exclusively on the intake side, and different rockers have been affected.

All the internal components were transferred from the previous head.

Has anyone experienced this, particularly after fitting a Clio 3 RS head to a Clio 2 RS engine? Are there any differences in valvetrain geometry, valve stem height, spring installed height or hydraulic lifter working position that should be checked?

I’d especially appreciate hearing from anyone who has identified the cause and successfully fixed the problem. Ideally, I’d like to retain the hydraulic lifters.

Thanks!
