Roof Gremlins

Naturaly enough, my roof rattles :clown: even more now with the coilovers;
puck me fink it's like gremlins learning to tap-dance above my head

I'm thinking - will a layer of dynamatt or something like that cure this?
I have an electric sunroof if that makes any difference

Sunroof are a known problem mate as there rubbish i have an electric one rattles like mad. one thing for you to check is take off the small piece of trim around the inside of the sunroof like a rubber seal but its fabric once removed pull headlining down a bit and see if the rubber dampener has fallen out

Went to the local stealership today who said they couldn't do much more with the sunroof :dapprove:
Told me that Reno haven't came up with any recent solutions for the rattle -
they have already fitted an "anti rattle kit" about 18 months ago.

About as helpful as a waterproof teabag

I asked the service guy would some sound deadening cure it and
he told me that it might not as it's in the frame of the sunroof

I was told it would cost me over £300 to get it fixed. Squeezed a folded peice of card inbetween the lining, not made a peep since.

Is yours an electric sunroof?
Where exactly did you place the card? I don't want to jam the mechanism

ive got a manual sunroof that just tilts on my dynamiue and it rattles like a b**ch - i find an instant cure is turning your music up! lol

is it rattling and its a manuel and rattles while its closed? then open sunroof look from out side and you will see a black piece of felt on a back piece of plasic that when the sunrood is shut the handle rests on put a new piece of filt on mate. where is everyone based that has rattles.

Keep taking it back, they do have a solution but they don't want to shell out the ££££ if they don't have to!! Mine was sorted on the 4th or 5th visit.

they have changed the frame of the sunroof from 2003 on wards but still get problems of the rubber strip falling out and rattling if ur cars out of warrenty then basically it needs a sunroof although i know ways around it. if anybody was close to bristol i could do it oh new sunroof is like £500 and 3 hours labour to fit.

mine was rattling. reno fitted a new piece of fet badly and now its creaking mainly when its hot or i go onto a lowered curb, so im assuming its the frame and roof flexing is making it do it.

i have a manual sunroof and it rattles so badly! Took it back to renault twice cuz its still under warranty, they did whatever they did and it was ok for a week then rattles again. really annoying. i just turn the stereo up and it miraculously stops!!
