Where can I get a 25 pin D female plug that I can wire/solder myself?

Need to make a lead for a udl of alarm panels. Tried egay and the like, but can only find converters and the like?

25way D-type (DSUB) are what you're after. Maplins sell them - not the cheapest place but easy, and they do backshells too.

Cheers i'll search that, if not i'll nip down

I do have an old lead off a US robotics Modem, but having to run it through a gender bender, and I cant get it to work. I need 02 (TxD),03 (RxD),04 (RTS),05 (CTS),07 (GDN) which bell out correctly at each end, and are a common connection. These the only connections I need however, I'm not sure what else is connected in it, I presume this might cause some conflict of why I cant connect??

Ah, so i buy this,

and then a hood to cover it?

Here's me thinking I could buy the lot as a kit!
