rs ecu warrenty

Three weeks it has taken to get a definitive answer and its "YES" you will null and void all your warranty if you fit the RS ECU even if they fit it.. Sorry if this has already been discussed in other threads but I still cant believe it.

If it wasn’t the fact that the Cup is in again for warranty work (banging on acceleration….engine mounts??) I would get it done………. I’m off to look @ the autotrader, I’ve had enough…….deep breaths...calming thoughts.........

Well I have the ECU fitted and my power steering failed 3 months later. I got the whole lot done under warrenty?

During warranty they always reset the ECUs so you will now have the standard ecu setup, Sorry Frosty

frosty, you better go back and speak to them, have you noticed much difference with the chip, and how did you get on with your tyre selection

This isnt true - because firsty any ECU updates would only update firmware, which would not alter either the fuel or ignition maps as they are programmed into a ROM device, and secondly, becuase my car still revs to ~8,000rpm.

As for the tyre choice, Im gonna make do with the semi-naked Contis and then go for the Goodyears. ;)
