RS Monaco Clio surprise (Renault Clio R.S.16)

  Turbo 182 Alfa 159
I'd buy it if i had 30 or 40k sitting waiting to spend on a car but i'm an idiot.

The spoiler for my normal 200 is costing £1000.

They look really good in person. It's something they copied over from the F1 car.

Even the Trophy-R with the Akrapovic exhaust makes almost no noise. You get some pops and crackles from the cabin, but when you hear a fly by they're next to silent. They would really need to add a valve to this and give it the option of being a bit louder.

They should have done the whole car matte to continue that theme.

As much as I like the matte of the F1 car, I prefer the normal LY.

In all fairness that was filmed on a potato, after my phone battery died.
The main problem is the spinny thing in the exhaust tends to dull the exhaust note a lot.

I filmed it a few times on my nice new shiny Sony 4K thingy. Haven't gotten through all my video yet though so don't know if I captured its sound well. Can't say I recall hearing anything at all from it in person.

Yep that's the same story I found at the RenaultSport trackday (where it might as well be called Megane trackday), they're so quiet! That's not a bad thing, but on a 2 seater 5 door... It needs to be a bit more nutty.

imo the uk dealer network is not capable of handling a S16
If the car is commercialised it will be sold through our R.S. Specialist dealerships who'd receive specific training on it from myself and the team here.

You're going to kill me for all the questions, but what would the training entail?

Just getting them up to speed on the difference between this and the 200t?

My experience with your rs dealer network tells me they could not be trusted to service a clio rs16 the sales manager would be using it to commute in for 6 months and when it had done 10000 miles your mechanics would not be capable of fixing it. Ask Jeremy the amount of times ive tried to call him about your main dealers they are crap and the level of service is rubbish. Every time Suzanne and i have been back for a recall etc we have had to complain to your customer services.

I am sorry that you feel that way.

Shame nobody trained them on it even existing on the Renault stands at Goodwood.
Can you remember who you spoke with?

Not offhand. Went to the main Renault stand and they didn't know, suggested I went to the moving motorshow stand. Went there, they didn't know, said to try the main stand. Nobody was actually sure if it was even there.

Ended up finding it in the First Glance paddock.

I thought the Renault Stand and overall presence at Goodwood this year was very impressive! I also think its a tad unfair for the Hosts operating the stand to be able to answer each and every question thrown at them on the spot. Customers that are interested in finding out more would of had there details taken for their local dealers to assist further.

Slough is not a Renault Sport specialist dealership, so won't have the demonstrators available to drive at all times or have the extra level of product knowledge/ understanding of Renault Sport. That being said they should have called you back. For info, here are our specialists.

Do you think this is the thread or forum for a post like that ? @rs 1an
My point is that if Renault made the rs16 we would never be able to buy one,

i have the money mate but no faith in main stealers, m3 next like the others, should get a spoiler for about 300 at rsport cars in surrey.

Having spent a good 20 minutes at Goodwood on Sunday drooling over this thing, Renault need to at least stick the bodykit on the 1.6T and put a manual box in it. Hand on heart, if it looked EXACTLY like the one at Goodwood, but with 5 seats, i would be test driving one. If it was as good behind the wheel as my current R56 Mini, for circa £22.5k, id serious consider buying one.

Its simply the best looking & most purposeful car Renault has made in years.

@The Boosh! Get it sorted!

  Clio Trophy
i made a dash to goodwood and back on the thursday to view this (from derbyshire) i was disapointed with:
the renault stand did not knowing it was there and sent me to to renault sport area.
they only spoke french and so i just wandered around until i found it.
i am also disapointed that i am still awaiting a drive in a new clio trophy went straight to my dealer and tried to book a test in on as soon as i saw this car to see what the new clios are like.(un less some else lives close to m1 junc 28 and wants to take me out in one) do not think they are now interested since they are not an rs dealer so cannot sell me the car! (in the last two years 2 new cars from them inc my 275trophy)
Not happy at the lack of renault sport staff at goodwood!

  Clio 220 Trophy 1051
i only live at j27!.
I test drove a clio trophy at renault nottingham, they have an rs specialist there called Alex, hes about 7 foot tall ,lol, really nice chap, he sold me my car.
Phone up and ask for Alex, tell him you want to test drive a clio trophy, they had a red / purplish colour one in for test drives.
He will accommodate you. He will probably remember me, we brought a white trophy in april.

This makes me happy!
