RS Tuner-Results

  fiesta 1.25
I recieved my rs tuner yesterday and it seems to be a good piece of kit which is alot easier to use than i thought.Ive yet to remap the car but my performance results came back as

106kw power @ 5950
172.43 Nm @ 5256

are these results about right?I put in 1200kg weight too.

Didnt save that particular result but the one from before was pretty similar.

Does this look right?

Sounds about right tbh, what gear was that in ?

Try it in 3rd WOT @ 2.5k

Yep, no idea how the software works it out just from the ecu alone. BHP and Torque are a measure of force.. how does the ECU measure that!

Maybe Henk/Somebody could explain the Science behind it? :D

20% loss through transmission = 174bhp @ Fly

...maybe :p

Still not sure how it can be acurate.

Cheers, not bad results then even if it isnt very accurate.

Now all i need to do is get my inlets on then i can map it.How do i write a new map?do i need the software and a cal file or just the software?

I think you need to first backup your Cal and ECU from the Read option. Then write the 6500_5404.rst ECU file to update your ecu software to the most upto date version, then the 6500_5B03_RON98_july09.cal

So what has actually happened so far!? Has it been mapped!? Or it just reading your cars ecu!? I really would like to understand what all the "RS tuner" thing is all about.. :S?

I was jus treading the data, ive not yet put a different map on it these results are from my standard car with panal filter a cat back exhaust.

Hopfully with matched inlets and a remap it will get around 5-10 bhp

Oh, so it basicly just reads the ecu and cars performance!? Tells u what benifits you are getting from upgrades etc etc!?

What else does it do!? Tweak things!?

How much are these!?

  fiesta 1.25
It tells you all the errors on your ECU and by typing in the cars weight and going for a run in 3rd gear it produces a graph showing power, torque and drag.

When i use it to remap the ECU i will then compare the results.

They are £165 posted new iirc i might sell mine once ive remapped my car though

inlets and a remap 5bhp is more realistic really, all depends how good/bad your current inlets are.

Did an oil and oil filter change today along with fitting a samco hose and tbh its made a bigger difference than i thought.Did a few runs and the best i got was 111kw which works out at just below 180 bhp.Obviously these results arnt accurate but its definitly made a difference.

Picture shows the run against the run i did a few days ago.

Did you feel any difference with the Samco hose?

I keep hearing people mention them and wonder if there's any real point to them.

I've got one on my Ph1 and can honestly say it hasn't made the slightest difference to the way the car feels or performs lol.

Dont take too much notice of the figures the RS tuner gives you, remember the ambient temperature can have a significant effect on your power figures.
The road ideally needs to be totally straight aswell as totally flat, there are all sorts of variables that can affect the consistency of power figures.

I underastand that there are so many variables so i tried to keep most of them the same.same road, same time of day but obviously i didnt put my foot down at the same time etc.I did many runs and couldnt get over 106kw before and today i was getting anything from 108-111kw so it must have made a slight difference,i think changing the oil probably made more difference than a samco hose could.

It still feels exactly the same tbh so will i notice the difference with matched inlets and a remap?
