what sort of power gains can you get from an RStuner map on a standard 172 ?

Much better response in the lower revs, slightly higher limiter, few bhp maybe?

It's just generally a better feel, if you have a filter + exhaust then even better!

Not sure they add much to the power output at all, but the overall drive is much better and the car is more responsive.

The 98RON map is how the car should have been calibrated from new.

Rs Tuner is definitely worth the money. Cold start behavior is drastically improved with the 98RON map. You also have the diagnostic functions whenever you need them rather than having to go to a dealer or garage. (In most cases).

iv yet to see anyone prove any gains with an rs tuner, only that "it feels nicer etc" yet to see a before and after graph. most people who get one already have other mods such as filters, decats, exhaust etc. my money would be spent on somewhere like rs tuning doing a proper map specific to my car rather than a generic map that "fixes cold start issues and makes it smoother"

You can do a before and after rolling road test with the rs tuner device to see for yourself.

Well at the West Mids RR day I had my map and came 2nd out of ~20 Clio's, I'd say it's definitely had some benefit!

as we all know clios vary greatly in power outputs out the box, yours could be a good one. id like to see a run before and after on some rollers to see the gains to prove its worth it over a custom map.

Would dig my before and after graphs out but just remembered that the before graph was missfireing...

Before with missfire was 160.8bhp atf

after with rstuner and missfire fixed 179.4bhp atf

That doesn't prove anything though... The RRday we had which addicted is on a bout we had a cammed and rstuning mapped clio that made the same power as mine and was running rich or something?

I'm also looking for 2nd hand RS TUner, what's the deal with buying used one, some are unlocked etc, what does that mean?
After buying the unit, what else do you need to do and pay for?
