RSI 8v rear suspension setup for track

Car  clio RSI + EVO X
Hi, last monday i did my first track day at cadwell park, the RSI did me proud!!! except around the higher speed corners, the rear of the car wanted to go to the front!!!!, not nice!! i have lowered the car all round by 60mm but havn't changed the dampers, is this the problem? the back end still feels very soft and a bit bouncey

a few pics at cadwell

If anything the rear end look WAAAAY too low...

Looking at those images the rear has gone lower than 60mm?!

What set-up are you running on the front springs and strut wise?

Yeah was thinking the same that the rear is to low, maybe needs to come up 10-20mm, im running standard shocks on the front with GMAX springs -60's, just made my own strut brace which seems to be doing the job ok

Isn't the rear a torsion beam set-up on Mk1's? I'd recommend lifting it so it atleast sits level or higher maybe.

Look into getting a set of Koni's for it.

Yeah it is the torsion beam, think i got a little carried away when lowering it lol hmm maybe try some koni adjustable shocks on the back, has anyone had these fitted, are they any good?

have you adjusted the brake bias valve on the rear beam since lowering it..

I was just about to say the same thing..

On my old RSi I ran a full Koni adjustable damper set-up, with H&R camber correcting bolts..

This seemed to do the job very well!!

But defiantly raise the torsion bar by at least 20mm.

ordered the Koni adjustable dampers yesterday, H&R camber correcting bolts????? how do these work?

IIRC... that set-up does not fit under the standard 14" rims?!

The camber bolts let you control how much camber your run through the front wheels.. can be set-up to offer more negative camber, shown below

Bloody hell there cheap!!! well guess i need then, soo i also need some 15" rims for the williams brakes, Gray: is it really worth the money? are the brakes that much better on the williams?

hmmm interesting, not sure what to do now, may just stick to some new better pads for next track day as got pretty new discs on at the mo, been giving the old girl some more lippo suction today
