I dont know, I just dont understand that sentence. I think its the question mark that is throwing me.

lol. the q mark was a confused question mark! why couldnt i have another? why would they offer a refund and not a new one? they asked me if it had cruise control b4 i got it?so i presume they new it was not a FBW. i still want one though! im a bit curious now though, i might just go to bb and get theirs?

yeah i would be cautious of the rsport one

try BBPT chip see if thats ok. whats the price difference?

Not all Mk2 172s had cruise control so if thats the only question they asked then I would of been hessitant on making the purchase.

Hope you get it sorted soon Paul.

give it a try lol u make it sound like im buying a new flavour packet of crisps!not over £300 worth of ecu!

I know i have a bias opinion but ive now got the bb tuning ECU on my car and im so impressed.
Car idles the same but revs to 7.8k and i had it rolling roaded at santa pod where my car was hot through doing runs allday and with pipercross open filter and cat-back exhaust pulled 181.7bhp at the flywheel ;)

At Surrey rolling road day which was a hotter day before the chip i only managed 167bhp at the fly AND my car had beeen left longer to cool down

Not saying the ECU gave me an increase of 14.7bhp but its how everything works better together on the car.

just trying to make it sound as appealing as possible.!!

Will you not still have the same throttle setup issues (if thats what the problem was) on the BBT chips?

Taking it out of a another may give you the same problem clarkie cos its not use to your car. the bb ecu is new so it will lock onto your car and work perfectly as mine did-they just took out my normal one then replaced it with it and it fired up straight away.
I reckon your looking at about £300 for it but you would have to call them up and ask them cos im not entirely sure.
But REMEMBER for that price you get the assurance that if anything should go wrong they WILL sort it for you.

I might be after one soon, so let me know how you get on with the BB.

  is non-existent

clarkie and phoenixy let me know if and when you go bbpt ill come with you guys and get my car chipped aswell, was supposed to get it done this week but money is tight

will the bbpt gp n ecu cause the rpm to be higher like that of the rsport? both of these are plug and play ecu right? you do not have to get a tuner to mess around with it like a piggyback yeh?

In response to questions raised in this thread :

1) The GRP.N ECU retains the factory RPM idle speed

2) It is a plug and play ECU (no splicing of wires etc)

3) No messing around required, V easy to install

Any more questions please e-mail us at mailto:sales@bbpt.co.uk">sales@bbpt.co.uk or have a look online for more info at http://www.bbpt.co.ukwww.bbpt.co.uk
