Rstuner help - yeah another!

Just waiting for my licence to come through email. Currently running:
Software : 8000
Cal : 7802
Vin : cb22

Got decat and upgraded filter, and looking for a 98ron map with overrun (pops and bangs)

What file would i need/be best?

Theres only two files for the 182. performance cal and overrun cal (which is the same but with overrun pops on it) Simples

Sweet cheers, if i've bought the license do i get a map with that? Or do i need to pay another 49euro for the map and 5euro for the ecu upgrade?

ECU upgrade is free. Check the link I gave you and on the page theres a download link. I don't know why it says 5 euro because its free.

You don't get a map with the license. Its 10 euro for the normal performance map or 29 euro for the overrun map iirc.

The map below it is the performance CAL file but its only the 98 ron map. Ive yet to find somebody with the pops n bangz one to borrow.

What is the estimated time for updating the ECU, and uploading the map?

The instructions on the website are pretty pants considering the importance of what you are doing regarding ECU upgrading etc. It doesn't even state how to actually do it :rasp:

Ah, serves me right for not looking hard enough, i was referring to the "reprogramming instructions" on the actual map page.

Forgive my incompetence, but i assume i need to use the Write CAL option for both files? (obviously software version first)

No idea lol, uploading that file will put a different calibration on too but not a performance one, just an updated oem iirc?

When i do them i usually make a back up of the RST, which is your ECU software. Then make a back up of the CAL file. Then i turn the cars on for 5 minutes, let the battery re-coop.

Then ill upload the new RST file, then follow it with the new CAL file.

You can tell if it has worked as soon as you turn the car on as you will have the 1K idle.

I can only assume they have noticed a large decrease in new sales for the rstuner, due to people selling on 2nd hand, so they've bumped the price up of the maps to combat it? Only an assumption though

Honest mate, i dont run with the overun map, i just run with the performance CAL but its so much better than standard. The torque at low end is immense.

I ran the overrun map, now im running the performance map. I chop and change when I feel like one or the other

Doh, i was told the older tuner would work with all the performance maps, but after speaking with henk, it seems this is not the case. A little annoyed as i've already bought the licence for this one.

i don't see how tbh. it's not henks fault someone told mike the old tuner would work with all the maps. iirc it's just the overrun (pop & bang) maps that don't work on the old tuner.

Indeed, I don't expect a refund, not henks fault at all, just wish people would say if they don't know the details of things rather than saying "yes!". My own fault for not researching enough myself!

hopefully you can sell it as unlocked for £150. i'd buy it for that (although i just bought one myself)

It says on the OR calibration order page, ONLY for firmware 182 and higher , ONLY for decatted car.
