rust protection on exhaust...

hi everyone my mate has got a bit of rust coming through on his standard system if he took it off is there any paint he could apply to it to try and exstend the life of the system..what about hammerite etc? black would look better though yeah???

You can get exhaust paint for the task, but as it is already rotting, and most probably from the inside out it won't prolong the life IMO.

Like rich says . If its showing rust on the outside , it'll be rusting from the inside out . Time for a new exhaust .
