rusted 172 cup exhaust!!

Hi

I have a 3 year old 172 cup an already i have to buy a new exhaust system for it! It is completly rusted and starting to fall off! Has anyone else had this problem with theres? Surely this should not happen after only 3 years? Although it seems a very poor design! I am also just outside my warrenty!!

mine is the same,

the bracket on the backbox has rusted off. i've welded it a couple of times but every time you hit a hard bump it falls off again.

im going to get a magnex for it instead.

My cup had only covered 26k and my back box rusted and snapped off. Good excuse for a new system from charlie at prospeed though

Mine was just about to fall off just after the warranty had expired. Welded it for now. Fingers crossed it will last until I change my car

Would recommend, thats what I did.

Bought my 172 on 40,050 miles (02 Plate) and within 250 miles the back box fell off!!

Much better than OE system though and you won't loose any power

Nah, not at all...To be fiar unless ur spending 1k plus gains with an exhaust are minimal.

You've been lucky to get 3 years out the standard system mate...

I drove AJR's with the k-tec steath system on the other night.....sounds very good indeed....also at motorway speeds its quiet enough not to annoy you....

My cup is 2002 and the exhaust died on it last week. I've got a three year warranity on it still running, but unfortunately the warranity doesnt cover wear and tear.
Good news though, my boyfriend fitted the stealth exhaust system today with much ease and its great! Really happy with it!

They are Crap & expensive to fit new OE so don't bother...

I have a 20k 52 Plate (2003) 172 Cup and the back box started blowing in the New Year...cost me £180 for a new one...

Most people on here recommend Stealth...
