Rusty around fuel flap

Anyone else had this issue what a ball ache to remove fuel filler door. Need to drill rivets off tomorrow to remove the neck is there anything else to remove want to get rid off all the rust.

You need to get behind it as well.

After looking a few others recently i don't think people actually realise how widespread it is !!!

Here was mine, Its down to the dirt collecting under the rear arch at the fuel cap.
