He was offered a refund but hadn't taken it.This is all a bit silly, surely a month on, both parties should be chasing the other? They've been told the car is broken, the buyer continues to drive it surely both of you want this resolving?
He was offered a refund but hadn't taken it.
Nothing more Ktec can do really, they definitely don't look silly in this thing that's for sure.
Rather than it just dragging out. It's silly to me that it's not been addressed by either party, I'd have had that car back outside their door by the end of the next week.
Your wasting your time mate, that doesn't suit the pitchfork narrative, most have completely ignored the fact he refused a refund because he wanted to the keep the car, and asked Ktec to take the car back and investigate and sort the issue, but Ktec refused to look at it.But the car had issues from the off or there abouts. He mentioned that he was going to take it a reputable garage to get them to check it over. Maybe he didn't feel comfortable for ktec to diagnose the issue. A fault was then found. Ktec didn't have time to look at fixing it and wanted to refund the op.
But. He likes the car and as we know a good car is tough to find. The issue seems to be the diff, the main selling point of the 250. Fix that and happy days. The question of why they offered a refund straight away seems to me a bit strange. Maybe it was simply too much hassle fixing the car. Who knows.
The reply from K-Tec said nothing about refusing to look at it..Your wasting your time mate, that doesn't suit the pitchfork narrative, most have completely ignored the fact he refused a refund because he wanted to the keep the car, and asked Ktec to take the car back and investigate and sort the issue, but Ktec refused to look at it.
If you actually read ktec's post you might understand what has happened, after all that is why David posted. Seems he's right that some just want to slate them without reason. I'll quote him for you:Your wasting your time mate, that doesn't suit the pitchfork narrative, most have completely ignored the fact he refused a refund because he wanted to the keep the car, and asked Ktec to take the car back and investigate and sort the issue, but Ktec refused to look at it.

The customer thoroughly inpsected the car inside and out to a greater extent than anyone esle I have ever sold a car to, the unaccompanied test drive was far longer than anyone else has ever taken and then I was told the car would be taken straight to BeanieSport for an inspection, which it appears to have passed based on his previous post. I got the impression he wanted to find something wrong with it.
Sure enough just over a week passed after collection before I was called to say the diff was not working and that a drive shaft had been removed and it was confirmed the car had the correct box fitted. At this point I offered a full refund in order to put the customer back in the same financial position he was before he purchaed the car. This offer of a full refund was again confirmed in writing in reply to his email to which I replied to when we returned to work after Christmas (car sales also has a compeletey different email address).
As it stands at the moment we have agreed to look at the car for the customer as we have had some space open up in our workshop diary and I am waiting to hear back to have the car re-booked in as the first booking had to be cancelled by the customer.
It's not unreasonable to want to have the car repaired, but it's arguably unreasonable to expect the dealer to undertake a repair of a fault that no-one can actually identify beyond "it doesn't feel as I expected it to feel".
Maybe that'd be a quick fix, maybe it'd be weeks spent trying to figure out what the actual problem is by replacing one part at a time until the customer is satisfied.
If we were talking about a bent alloy or a blown turbo, I think it would be fair to expect a swift replacement from the dealer, but with the early threat of legal action I can totally understand why they want to refund and investigate in their own time.
Let's hope the car is soon fixed and the new owner can enjoy it.👍
I dunno, take this back to what it actually is:As above, hopefully it will get sorted, whether it's a repair or a refund, and it can all be dealt with amicably.
That being said, I still think people need to chill out with having a go at the OP. I'm all for a bit of banter, but this seems a touch unnecessary.
I dunno, take this back to what it actually is:
Insanely particular person buys a car from you.
Insanely particular person tells you there’s a completely unquantifiable problem with the car and wants it fixed.
You offer a refund because let’s face it, no one on earth wants to deal with this guy in this situation.
He lays into you on a public forum.
I mean come on now, the moment you do work on it:
- He’ll tell you the front bumper isn’t aligned perfectly
- That there’s less tread on the left tyre that the right because the diff was faulty and he wants two new tyres
- That you’re heavier than him, left an ass imprint in the seat, and he wants new seats.
A full refund sorts all of this, apart from the OP doesn’t WANT to go and look for another
I’m genuinely curious, in what way has anyone been bullied? If you don't want to deal with particular buyers, don't sell specialist cars 😂
I don't really see that blame needs to fall at anyone's fault at this stage. I can't blame someone for wanting to keep a car that they like and for it to be inspected and, if necessary, repaired (unless he is imagining it). Likewise, Ktec haven't done wrong by offering a refund (unless they know there is a fault and sold a dodgy car), and have also quite rightly offered to inspect it.
Ultimately, it's for the two parties to figure out, and hopefully they can do so without it turning into a s**t hurling competition. None of us know the full story, so for people to be throwing mud at ktec, or bullying a member off the forum, all seems a bit unreasonable to me.
In the words of @leeds_182, this thread should most definitely be locked.
