Safari for...WINDOWS!!

Wouldn't bother trying the beta its buggy as hell from feedback ive seen

OMDG, they weren't kidding when they said it was a beta.

I can't enter URL's and all the menu drop downs are empty.

This reminds me of the first iTunes for Windows.
reporting first crash of safari on win xp :)
nother thing, if you minimize the window while it's in full screen then restore it, it comes back resized and not in full screen
this app already has some quirks (in vista so far anyway) clicking on it in the taskbar doesn't minimize the window and the CTRL-ENTER shortcut for putting in websites doesn't work.
wow safari on windows is ugly!
yeah no... just downloaded and installed, ran for about 5 minutes and nope, i'm staying to FF.
i wouldnt bother with it, sounds crap

i find it amazing that people write this stuff so fast.

im using it now, no such issues.
(but then im on osx!)

viewing this webpage on clio sport safari uses 73mb of memory whilst firefox uses 17mb, i think i will stick with firefox!

Noticed something crap already, when you click the title bar it doesn't hightlight it all.

I cant type in the URL box either. I know its a beta but isnt that a rather obvious bug? Could someone also explain the relevance of a faster browser? I don't seem to need speed - i just sit here and read it!! Anyway its uninstalled now. Bit of a waste of time, really ^^

Downloaded the latest OS X Version - best change so far a spellchecker unless Daz has changed something on the forum ?

Post reply box now has a spellchecker in Safari 3.0 which I am sure was not there before.

The only reason I use it in OSX is because it's integrated nicely.
I much prefer Firefox.. but, it doesn't integrate the same (Key Chain, RSS, etc..) so I don't :p

Dunno why you'd want it in Windows. Heh.

Hmm, it does. Right click, Spell Checking.. :)

OSX has it in any application.. which is why it rocks ;)

Don't even need to right click or anything now then, it just underlines the word spelt wrong in Red as you type.

So does the original Safari if you select "Spell Check as you type" :)

They just made it the default at a guess ;)

That will be why then! Clearly done for thicko's like me that did not even know it was there .... Thanks Daz

OSX rules like that.
A spell checker, in any application? Pure genius.

TextMate, Adium, Safari, it's amazing really ;)

And all because it's based on a sane platform - install a dictionary and let it be queried from anywhere! :)

I'm loving the speed increase, haven't seen any new features really.

Actually it's more specific than that, it's only available in cocoa applications that use the text control - anything that doesn't conform to that it won't work in as there are no api calls to hook into it, at least in Tiger. :rasp:

It is a very useful feature though, I do use it quite often.

it doesn't look very nice, i don't really like apple products so wouldn't download this anyway, so i'm going to judge it on aesthetics.......

It's considerably faster than safari 2 when rendering large pages (i.e 4000 or more "lines"), infact it's instant where safari 2 wasn't - was my only gripe with safari.

For all you pr0n viewers, safari has a rather nice feature called "private browsing" which doesn't store anything in the history, cache or autocomplete while enabled.

Safari rocks. Although now I need speed download to be updated because its plugin breaks safari 3. :(
