Safety Devices Rear Cage Fitting

Good Afternoon All,

I've recently purchased a rear Safety Devices cage for my Clio 182 however I'm after a little help regarding fitting.

Below is a picture of the cage and fitting plates however I'm after a little help/guidance on fitting:

Firstly I wanted to ensure I was holding all the bracket/plates required? As this was second hand from Safety Devices & secondly I'm at a slight loss so to weather or not I'm require to weld the plates to the floor?

Assuming I do not need to weld plates, the two plates in the top right of the final pic cover the wheel arch mounts but what would I use on the front mounts of the rear cage? I can't imagine you fit the bottom two mounts with the lip on? Although I may be wrong?

Any help would be great.

Tom

Plates are welded to the floor iirc mate

Those bottom two plates with the lip weld in the other way up on the rear foot wells up against the bench seat

I did think that was the case however there are very limited instructions provided so hard to work out for a idiot like me! I didn't know if welding could be avoided? Assuming welding is required does Steve (I think that was his name!) weld on cars?!

If so I may be over again one day!

Unfortunately welding will be required I'm afraid, the rear arch stays are bolt through but as mentioned above the feet are welded to the footwells. The other brackets in the top left of the pic aren't required (these are for extra supports that you're cage doesn't have)

Perfect.

Thanks for the confirmation. Just to find a welder now!

Steve can do it mate

Perfect. I just need to work out a way to get both the car and roll cage across to your guys!

I'm on holiday from Thursday but I'll drop you a text when I get home if that's @Scrooge to hopefully arrange a date.

Hey, where abouts in Essex are you? Welcome to have a poke around my 182. I have the same cage fitted and plates welded.

I'll take some pics in a little bit and upload here to give you an idea. I'm in Benfleet if you wanted to take a look.

Good price that cage was, I was so close to buying it! Gutted now (😞) cos it looks mint .

Congrats on your purchase .

I bought the full cage all be it a dash dodger but im not intending or racing any time soon.
Hopefully get the brackets in this weekend.

It will be well looked after

And its gone 20 mile up the road lol, apologies for the scratch marks, it was an arse tonget out on my own.

If you decide to run an aftermarket rear view mirror let me know and you can have the brackets from my longacre one that was on there mate

That's hilarious, small world!
I presume you race yours if you went for the upgrade?
The bracket would be great bud let me know how much your after

That cage looks great. I wonder who go the black one?!

Another question can you retain the headlining, carpet & interior trim with the safety devices roll cage?

I appreciate I the carpet will need to be removed/pulled back for fitting however I wish to retain as much of the interior as possible.

Thanks.

Tom

Yep you'll just have to trim the carpet to suit
