Sanding bullets

  Renault Clio
I'm going to be painting my bullets this week and like everything else I've got to sand them first. Doesn't this affect the writing at all since I'd basically be sanding the height of the writing and the shape of the writing away?? Any info is appreciated :)

You dont need to sand them properly. Just rough up the surface with a bit of 800 grit and you'll be fine. Just needs something to stick too

Is Halfords wet and dry ok to use? I don't know what grit it is.

Why not? Grit # is printed on the back of the sanding paper...

You could also use a Scotchbrite pad for scuffing it up... especially between the lettering.

All you're doing it roughening them up as stated, then the lighter grain paper will smoothen the surface.

Bullets are done and they're looking great, just drying them at the moment. Thank you for the help :)
