Hi guys,
This has probably been asked a thousand times..!!
What year scenic do I get the stick from?? And what else do I need to make it short shift??
Thanks in advance.

99-01/02 from memory, the last one before it all went digital dash.

As for short shift I couldn't say, I thought people fitted them to bring the lever closer to them rather than reduce the throw

Thanks mate.
Why do people put a yanoo short shift adaptor? Or mod in?? Think there must be some sort of add on, not just to bring it closer?? Surely??
Otherwise may as well stick one in off a old bus!!!

Ahh yeah forgot about the yanoo, they do indeed shorten the throw, but I think you've got to be a little careful with regard to rushing the synchro's between gears? I've never used one so I can't comment for certain, just what I've read. Someone like @NorthloopCup would probably be best to ask

It's the Yanoo stiff shift that's popular, not the short shift I think. I have a scenic shifter with stiff shift 3.0 and it's fantastic, 100% recommend.

What would be good if someone has had PMS and the Yanoo kit so they could give us a good comparison. I have heard good things about both really, but that just shows how s**t the change is standard.

I think @bloke has experienced both. Id love a PMS shifter, but they rattle a lot and look very aftermarket. I think that a scenic shifter is a nice middle ground as it does a similar job, and looks quite oem.

I've had both and preferred the yanoo, but that was my personal preference. In terms of shift accuracy, the pms was better though.

Does the PMS rattle a lot like Davyy is saying? I know PMS have those vibration dampers now as extras. Why was the Yanoo your preference?

  dan's cast offs.
much prefer the pms shifter, the yano is better than standard but that's not hard!! fitted plenty and only had a couple with a bit of a rattle, nowhere near as bad as some people make out.

Took me a bit to come round to buying one because it's a lot of money.

Would buy one again in less time. I've had all sorts over the years in various clios.

I've also had both, although the yanoo was with a phase 1 gear knob.

Both very good, but I personally prefer the PMS, if you can put up with the vibration and extra noise (nothing too bad).

The yanoo can be adjusted to stiffen the shift, which is nice, but overall the position and positive engagement of the PMS makes it that bit better for me!

Im running a Scenic lever, bent 45 degrees to match the original shifter, with a Yanoo 1.0 insert and a ph1 ball gearknob. I have a breaker with an ebay metal shifter that is the same size as the original, in comparison to the original both are an improvement, providing a stiffer shift action. The scenic + yanoo provide a better position for the lever if you are using buckets.

Having said that I am probably going to upgrade to a PMS at some point, so mine will be for sale!
