School me up please - Clio 200

Hi Guys,

Can you please tell me the difference between these two Clio 200's?
Why does the white 200 have red calipers, black rub strips and door handles? Also it doesnt have climate aircon and a yellow stripe on the steering wheel. Is this Cup spec?

This Alien Green 200 has colour coded rub strips, sliver calipers (are they smaller brakes?), and the yellow stripe on the steering wheel.

BTW, both examples are meant to be 2009's.

First one is a Cup, second one isn't.

The Alien green one still has the same brakes, it's just they are painted red on the Cup pack specc'd cars. The cup has less creature comforts but has the cup chassis, so lower, stiffer suspension, quicker steering rack, thicker ARB and that's about it.

Out of the 2 i'd have the alien green personally, but it depends what you want the car for.

white one is a "cup"
green one is not.
too add some confusion, "cup suspension" can be had on non-cup cars too.

Unless you're actually Shane Van Gisbergen, you'll struggle to tell the difference from the wheel, but you'll notice the cheaper interior every time you open the door.

better than the 172/182 ones!

Step away from the crack pipe.

Even my old 172, which was driven with maximum sympathy, still needed a new set of 2/3/4 synchros at 90k mileage.

Mental.

Comparison: MX5 box will take 300hp/lb.ft of boost, all it needs is an updated clutch.
And thoss are cars with, at the very most, 145hp from the factory.

Do 1*2s share that gearbox with other, lesser Clios?

Thanks guys.
Yes the green car is in Japan and is going to auction today.
The white car is in New Zealand (and is a UK import).

  GTD, Lupo
The green one also has cornering lights. Far better than the standard lights which are pretty poor.

drive a 197/200 properly and you wont have any gearbox issjes!
