Scratch X By Hand - Small Test

  Shed.
I had been playing around with the polish on the guenapig a week ago to see how good it is. Ive seen it used with a g220 with good results. Today i actually got some masking tape and did some 50/50's on the paint.

I used a Sonus SFX Applicator Pad, im overly excited by the pads and ill be getting some german applicators soon to replace them. Overall i think its a good polish. It does require patience and a lot of elbowgrease, which i think anyone can tell you. However, the end results are actually quite good, light swirrling scratches are removed but the quite deep scratched (which would polish out with a DA) wont shift by hand. After one of the 5050's i decided to use the polish lightly over the swirled side quite briefly. Suprisingly, some of the minor scratching had gone, although more work would be needed to get rid of the rest. Paintwork looks great once polished with Scratch X.

Please bear in mind the car has been taken through a carwash (by my mum not me) and has terrible swirling.

Nice work - would not want to ever have to do a car by hand with it again though !

It does require a lot of elbow grease. id reccomend taping something and doing a half and half, see how much work youll need to do. Do not reccomend

Personally i think its a product youll find usefull, but if you can get a mahine polisher then do.

Worth bearing in mind the original formulation scratch X could go funny when used by machine as it gummed up when it got warm. The later stuff is fine.

christ you can really see the difference there.

from somebody who knows washing a car to be throwing a bucket of fairy liquid over it and thinking itself lucky....

would i see a difference like that on white paint?

if you looked close enough yeah you would, but with white and silver cars it isnt really an issue. You have to look closely for swirls in thsoe colours.

Ditz if thats your cleaning routine yo may be surprised the colour of your car may change after using scratch x or if pc'd or polished

Awesome work! Thats almost as good as any machine 50/50 i've seen.

Could you upload that image to the scratch x product page on my site?

I've got some of this stuff as well and i'd recommend it to anyone with swirl marks. My car is black and is hard work keeping it looking unmarked and this stuff worked a treat!

Heres a few more. As i siad before, deep scratches arent guna budge. Dont ask about the masking tape, the car is going on friday. These are rds, and i gave them a run for their money but i gave up in the end.

And heres one of the plastic door sills. Obvious 5050 here, not perfect results. Think this was as good as it was guna get.

And another closer picture of the final results.

entire car would be a long long time. Its a useful product non the less.

I found that even a quick "buff" with the sfx ad made a decent amount of difference. Actually i think doing a single pannel at a time would be a good idea, but its a lot fo work. IMo get a machine polisher.

you need to work the polish in untill its broken down and then buff off, and add more if required.

I did the bonnet on my Astra a while ago. Jesus I wish I hadn't had bothered. It took around 2 hours all in and most of it was trying to take the damned stuff off!

User error ^^^ - As said before there is nothing to take off, you need to work the product till it is gone - that is the way to make it do it's job.
