scratches and clay bars

could anybody tell me if thay have used a clay bar, and is it any good , and how easy was it to use , some nice person has scratched my bonnet and any advice would be appreciated , thanks

I use Zymol clay bar...all it does is remove anything and everything from the surface of the paint.

Not sure how that would help with a scratch?

normal clay bars will not remove scratches, try something like scratch x

Clay bars are to remove bonded on suface contaminents. The clay shaves off stuck on muck that even washing wont remove.

Depending how deep the scratches are whether they will polish out. If its gone through the laquer to the base coat nothing but paint will sort it. General rule off thumb is if you finger catches in the scratch its too deep.

In removeing the scratch you polish down the laquer round it to make the problem area flat.

If your working by hand try some Meguiars scratch x, may take a good few applications if its deep.
