They haven't exactly slated the clio though. To be fair you wouldn't really expect more from another make's fanclub forum ;)

I would hardly say they hated it, they just don't like it. Thats why they drive SEAT's and go on a SEAT forum.

I bet the Clio handles better, the Seat is probably quicker though I imagine, and your mate should of bought the facelift Ibiza, whoever desgined that one only had a ruler and a set square on them that day.

Was a bit shocked to get such a negative response, even from SEAT owners lol. Everyone has their own opinions but i would rather have a clio (even a poor mans 172!) than an Ibiza

And yes its remapped so is quicker too! :(

i had a cupra turbo what a pile of crap dont get me wrong the engine is strong but it was by far the most un reliable car i have had as the electrics are crap even worse than my renault 5 gt turbo and thats saying something

I wouldn’t say forums are always fan sites..
Circumstances depict what a lot of people drive.
They join sites too gather more information about their marque of car..

To be honest have raced a few times (on a private road of course) and its not a great deal quicker, i can keep up but neither can gain much ground!
A 182 should have it, but dont quote me on that, could be completely wrong!!!.
Will be racing him at Santa Pod in the summer so will be interesting!

my 172 cup and 182 were always faster than my ibiza cupra r even though the ibiza was running a revo chip making it about 205 bhp

the problem is it weights more than my house and handles like a desk

ps it was 205 bhp ever time it was not running in limp mode with is about an hour every month

I know exactly what you mean, but thats not allways a bad thing. Is soo funny when a saxo thinks its just a 1.2 and try and race! leave them for dust! (by the way i'm not picking on Saxo's now, just an example)lol

i have had a 172 cup and a 182 they are manic little cars both great

the 172 cup by far feels the most fun and quicker through the gears

i wanna race a 172 see how much quicker they are (on private land)

I don't see what's wrong with the PH1, at least it's not silver!

The Ibiza looks boring to me, it's a glorified Polo at the end of the day, not the ideal start for a hot hatch.

upto 60 on paper there like 0.2 of a second diff then after that 182 should be stronger

but you might get too hot to concentrate without aircon and have to lift off LOL

TBH the clio is quicker. I used to work for SEAT so was driving cars all the time and the mk3 cupra does not feel quick at all! I almost bought one however i thought i would also try a 172 cup and i ended up purchasing the cup, even tho i was at SEAT and could have got it discounted. After owning the Cup for a while i fancied a change so purchased a Leon Cupra R 225... and didn't find it exciting at all in comparison to the clio! Hence why i now own a Trophy! :D

Don't get me wrong, i love the leon and Ibiza cupra but the Ibiza is looking really dated now and aren't that fast - however they can be if chipped etc.

I look for driveabilty in cars and having worked with and driven loads of SEATs and owned a couple, i would stick with the clio any day!
