seat position

have had my 172 cup for a year now and have been fairly happy with the handling and feel of the car but never quite thought it matched all the hype(prev car 205 gti).Ive allways driven it with a fairly laid back seat position but tried it today with the backrest more upright and the seat more forward and couldnt believe the difference. The car just felt so much more responsive and inspired much more confidence thru the corners it felt like a totally diferent car-fantastic!!!!.I know the position still not ideal to close to pedals and too high but suggestions to all - experiment!!!

I always drive with the backrest fairly upright, gives much more car control, and gives you far quicker reactions and abilty to turn the wheel faster and more accurately.

the genral rule for seat position is to position the seat back so you can rest your wrists on the top of the stearing wheel at the ten to two ish without your shoulder blades coming off the seat back

Most people drive with the backrest too far back. So did I until I was taught the proper position by a trackday instructor.

Yep, I can cruise along with the seat back (Im 6ft 3) but if Im driving in sport mode I have the seat closer and more upright.

I heard either VB-H or Tiff once say something along that lines.

i have my seat pretty upright and seat 1 off the bottom (on the height adjustment thing) and pretty close to the wheel

cant drive any other way or i feel completely out of control!
