Second Car... Which One

Hey all, i think i am going to be changing my car in march, so was wondering what everyone would suggest?

Would really like something with a bit of power, getting bored of the 1.4. but being 18, (1yr NCD) insurance is a factor!!

Oh, and up to 5/6k (bit more perhaps). Thanks for any suggestions!

Yeah the C2 was what i was thinking, but thought these were a bit out of my price range? Although, my mate suggested a 16v clio... Any chance of insurance on these? They really as good as everyone says?

I bought a Volvo T5 when I was 19.

225bhp, 150mph and 0-60 in 7 seconds is pretty quick. Insurance was £750 fully comp. Mid-rage acceleration is best as its got a fairly large turbo :)

Still have my Clio 1.4 16V though :)

are you kiddin m8, go drive one youll be sold, then again most cars with 100+ bhp will feel great after the RT.

Valver 0-60 in a bit over 7secs

130mph and 137bhp GGRREEAT fun

Lol, yeah my RT was ok when i passed my test, although i learned in a Ford Ka!! But my mates are all leaving me behind now, so would really like somethin a bit quicker as i am so bored with the (lack of) power.

If i went for a 16v, i would still have the money out of my budget to pay for the insurance, depending on how bad it was! any ideas on the price?

Oh the are they as good as everyone says, the amount of attention they are still receiving nearly 14 years after the first one rolled out says it all!

£1200-£2000 depending on where you live will get a fair example, check for rear arch bubbling and try get one as standard as poss. Cambelt change is important to as this will cost you £250+ to start

£250 for the cambelt? i only paid £150 for mine, including new starter motor! is it different in the valver?

Is that price insurance or car? Sorry for all the questions!

Out of 5/6k, or more, you would easily be able to afford a Valver and insurance mate. The question is not whether you can afford it but whether you are seriously ready for a car like that, because its a big leap up.

If you have that sort of cash available then I would personally suggest buying a newer car, such as a C2, etc. A lot of deals include insurance as well so makes it worthwhile...
