Selling an upgrade phone?

I'm currently with Orange and approaching upgrade time. I pay about £50 per month on contract so can have pretty much what I want (though I've not asked yet but never had trouble in the past).

I've currently got a one year old SE W800i with 2Gb memory card. I was thinking of selling it on eBay and trying to get £100 or so. I was thinking of then upgrading to a Nokia N80.

Thing is I'm skint.

I was thinking of keeping the W800i and flogging the N80 on eBay and making possibly £250. It would also mean I'd save on insurance each month as I may as well ditch it as they'd think I'd have a N80.

Has anyone done this before? Shouldn't be a problem should it? I just register the phone, then I can flog it right?

Actually, is there any other phones that are likely to fetch more than a N80 on ebay? I could do with making as much wonga as possible.

I'm also going to lower my contract to a £30/month one and also get free Orange broadband.

K800i go for similar amounts. Orange broadband is utter shite, its not worth it for free, they should pay you to use it...

Ah yes, a K800.

Orange BB really that bad? I'm on Blueyonder now and get 4mbps uncapped for £25/month but with Orange I should be able to get at least 2mbps capped to 2Gb for free. I rarely download music or video.

it shouldnt be a problem mate ah have an n80 and if its brand new you should get 250 quid anyway for it ..... its probably the highest value phone at the mo.... as for bb i have orange and its spot on especially since its free u cant complain eh

Just ensure you keep paying your contract, otherwise Orange will bar your phone (which your selling) via the imei number!

Which people say cant be unlocked, but with a crack from astalavista it take 10mins, on any phone.

yeh ah had that too some person does buy it now then sends an e-mail sayin they will give you a stupidly low amount for it .........grrrrrrrrrr had to re-list twice before i just had to do a normal auction
