Seriously Baked On Brake Dust

  Black Gold Trophy
believe it or not, I've found meguiars wheel brightener (non acidic) to be better than the acidic wheel cleaners and it's far kinder to the paint!

got some brick & patio cleaner from b+q, seems to have done the trick. these three gaps took half an hour of reasonable effort with a washing up brush and a plastic door stop as a scraper

this.

cant recommend it enough. non acid will take anything off. spray it on (£3 spray bottle from Tesco) use a new paintbrush to brush it round (wont mark the wheels). leave for 5 minutes power hose off. will remove tar brake dust and general crap from the road

very nice results! cant help and think what its doing to the paint though? suppose its grand if its washed off quickly! if stuck in the future try that restore stuff though!

good job!

A scalpel?

A f**king scalpel?

yeah if yer careful - sweep gently in one direction to break up the top layer if it baked on pretty bad. I know, it sounds mad but I use a scalpel for stuff like that a lot in work.

kpmatthews - good work, I would have thought that patio cleaner would tarnish paint/metal - however looks musturd :)

I used to use Acidic products once so i cant talk.

Im happy with espuma, especially when you work on cars which really arent worth the hassle of seling wheels up.
