Service Cost - Good price?

Hey Guys, hows it going?

Just about the give the car its second service. Its a 2005 car and it had one at 5,000 miles at the end of 2005 (not sure why?!) so due to the fact that the millage is now 17,000 it needs its second service. Just got off the phone to my mate (pullthru) who is a legend, at Gravells (South Wales) and have booked the car in for £230 in a weeks time.

Is this a good price for this type of service?

Thanks guys! Jack.

does sound a tad on the rip-off side.
can get a bronze service round here for £99 a silver for £129 and a gold service for £149.

What is that place down portsmouth that specialises in Renaults? How much do they charge? Anyone know?

Thanks a lot!

Oh no...i think I have just found out something bad! The first "service" that is in my service book is actually a safety check :( The previous owners have lied and they never had a service at 6k it was actually a safety check. So I have missed the 12k service by 5k

Gutted.

Rentech - highly recommended. Had my 36k service there and just had my 48k done on Monday. Good guys and do a proper job. Probably looking at £140ish for 12k service. Best to give them a shout though and get a quote.

Anyone have any advice on this?

There is nothing much you can do about that now mate, but i'd suggest you get the oil changed sooner rather than later!

A good specialist stamp in the book will make no odds, i'm not sure what specialists are near you in south wales though. ...but 230 odd quid for an oil change and filter is a total pish take!

Should't have had a safety check this late on.

Anyway just get it serviced now all this following the rules is useless Renault rules were created to lower the running cost there not the optimim for the car.
