Setting timing on a new engine

Car  182, SQ7, Trafic
How is it done?

If I've taken head of and replaced some pistons say. Get 1 and 4 pistons to TDC then what and how do I do to get it timed correctly?

Locking pin the crank and hold the cams in place with the tools and bolt it all together if you have the right tools then it will be right

How do you know when cams are In place though?

Obviously they can only be locked one of four ways, but how would you know which was right?

Bugger thought I'd heard of one somewhere :( I'll google it, sometimes find helpful stuff like that on random Russian sites!

There was a pdf on here im sure of it. I have the full pdf files of hwe whole manual, pm me if you need it mate. Simple enugh to do with the tools.

there is a pattern one available, i think they're actually the people who make it, but its cheaper from Renault LOL

Then the first word in your sentence is wrong ;)

Is it a worthwhile modification though? Also would it be ok set like that for forced induction?

I might just get the engine built up and bring it down to you to do the timing and belts!

Won't be for a good few months!

Don't have any decent Megane 225/230 rods and pistons laying around do you?
