Shall I buy wax or glaze

  ph1 172 Black
Ok I've so far:

Washed
Clayed
Washed again and dried with some QD
SRP
EGP
Carnuaba

Only think is the carnuaba is AutoSmarts that I erm aquired and I don't think I rate it. Car looked it's best after SRP I think. Also got some Autosmart Reglaze. It ain't bad for a really quick wet look but can look swirly.

Now was thinking of getting maybe P21s, Collnite 845 or Victoria Concours but then I thought would something like Megs #7 show glaze be better (even though it won't last long, would like the Zymol HD but not intending on spending that much.)

Also my friend has just got a rotary polisher. My paint ain't too bad so was just think of using polisher with SRP then a wax or glaze. Should I use something else or would it be ok. Heard SRP works really well with rotary.

I want something that protects car but then again I don't really drive it much at all. Not in week anyway so if it stops raining for five minutes I can enjoy getting the best shine out of it.

Thanks

a glaze would offer zero protection. leave it out 10mins in the rain, the fruits of your labour will be wasted. go for the glaze, then top off with a layer or two of wax :)

Yeah I realise you need wax over glaze. Just wondered wether a good glaze under current wax would make a better combo than a good wax. Since AutoSmart Gold Wax contain carnuaba which is what the expensive ones contain.

I would get both.

A coat of Megs 7 over the EGP should not strip it, then seal the look left by the glaze with a good pure cleaner free carnuba wax. Extra step but worth it.

Which would you reccomend for looks and which for durability?
and a compromise of both....

Yeah. Can't afford the Swisswax. Maybe will get the Megs Glaze now and some Poorboys Blue or Collinite. Not sure. Collinite is supposed to last well or would I be better with Megs 80 since got rotary.

Oh thanks for replying Rich.

Megs 80 despite the name is a polish. Used over EGP and it will strip it right off.

I would go for Chemical Guys 50/50 rather than the Poorboys or Collinitte

Cheers Rich.

Where can I get the 50/50 from with Club Discount? Oh and do I apply it just like any nuba?

Oh and should I get a German applicator pad or am I fine just using the Megs yellow ones.

Cheers Ben.

Bloody weather. Cleaned polished, sealed, and then waxed car friday to take out today. Went to garage. Used a bit of QD for any dust. Pulled car out and it started raining.

Was looking mint now it's just wet. At least the paints protected but is it ever gonna stop raining. Had car locked away for days to take out today and I'm gutted. Bet it's my fault it keeps raining!

I just use the normal Megs ones for waxes.

The 50/50 seems to get better reviews, looked ok on Black Gold, not bothered with the Pete's here. Swissvax Onyx looked loads better so is worth the extra cash IMO.
