Shiny black lump below offside engine mount - what is it?

Sorting the [new to me] 182 and thought I'd ask what the attached is. Heavy duty shiny black lump of a thing below the offside engine mount. Any clues?

It’s just a lump of metal. It helps with vibrations, quite a few folks take it off.

mine doesn’t have that but then again, my mount looks totally different too

It’s literally a lump of useless metal. Supposedly for weight distribution or harmonics, depending on who’s telling you.
either way it’s pointless. Remove and bin.

It will be there to dampen vibration from certain frequencies travelling throughout the car, that's renaults way of dealing with it
