Shock bolt spacing??

i have 52mm bolt spacing on my hub,

if i bought a set of coilovers with a bolt spacing of 58mm,

is there any reason why i couldnt mill the bottom hole 6mm toward the top one, then perhaps weld a washer over it to stop it moving,

if the bolts are done up tight, and the top bolt is still holding it in place, and the only time there will be any foce on the elongated hole would be when there is no weight on the car and the springs are pushing the hub down.

doesnt seem like it would be the greatest of crimes ever committed on cliosport? or does it?

Up to you, I toyed with the idea but the damping rates will be different between shocks for the different Chassis and engine combos!

If i was to do it i'd do as you've said, and weld the washer to the strut, but if your innacurate lengthening the hole you'l have issues later when you get it aligned

IIRC this is what f0xy did when he put his fk's onto his hybrid. I'm sure it's in his project thread...somewhere.
