Shocks?

I have a 7 month old Honda civic and it needs a new shock but the dealer is only replacing 1 and i always thought they should be replaced in pairs.
am i right?

Yea i think that would normally be the case.
But if it is only 7 months old, it means that it must have failed due to a fault and has not simply worn out. So as the other side is practically brand new thats probably why they are not changing it.

You sould always replace in pairs but at the age its nothign realy to worry about much.

Dampers like for like don't affect ride height. worn springs are shorter though under load.

there is nothing left. What about up-rated shocks? or have I lost the plot.

Nope they shouldn't ever leak anything.

Forget "uprated" (I don't liek the name anyway sicne it implies there somwhat better and there not alsowatys there just hardder) shock unless your redoing the whole suspension.
