Shocks

Am I right in thinking that 182's have shock absorbers as well as springs? I think mine may be fucked. The car reacts very badly to any kind of bump in the road and is overly uncomfortable. I'm assuming they're an often overlooked part that can wear over 80k/6 years quite easily and also serve an integral function with the suspension setup. I think the engine mounts are also due a replacement as I get various knocks when changing gears or letting off the accelerator.

Any idea of a rough cost for the shocks and are they easy to fit? I have my car booked in for some work at the end of next month so might add this onto the ever increasing list of things to fix.

Everyone says genuine shocks so maybe try NWP. Also try pushing down on your car see if it bounces for a while. If it bounces for a little too long its the shocks. Your rear shocks might be gone as that was kinda what I was getting.

Also If I was you get the car on axle stands and see if the front or rear springs are cracked. You should also be able to see if your shocks are leaking from there too.

On the engine mounts there is a slight fix in the guides, undo 4 bolts, get your mate to pull it forwards and tighten. It should be much better but if not then a new mount will be in order.

Rear shocks are soo easy, top bolt, bottom bolt done. there is a guide aswell so its all good.
