Shorter aerial mk2ph1?

  ?
After about 20 minutes of whacking, smacking, greasing, screwing and unscrewing....Ive finally managed to unscrew mine! (with the helf of pliers and at the cost of demolishing my old one). Now im looking for a shorter one, as ive finally found out that this long flexible piece of crud is what causes a really annoying clicking sound at high speed (the aerial falls flat and bangs on the sunroof surround)....

Anyone know which aerial would fit mine / look good?? what should i be looking for on fleabay etc?

Thanks.

not bad at all, I got one from Halfrauds for a tenner, one of the first things I did when I got the car was change the aerial.

I nicked one off a works van ;)

It's only about 2 inches shorter than standard but it'll do for now.

It's about one and a third school rulers... probably round about the length from your elbow to your middle finger if you're a midget! Nothing like the length of mk2 ph1's ;)

Ye right! Its about half the length of the standard one, plus its really thin, looks ten times better :)

I boughta ripspeed one from halfords the other day, 6.99 and looks great. It's tiny in comparison with the old aerial, I reckon it's about 5 inches long.

Radio reception is a bit worse in bad areas but looks loads better.

Just found it on their site

The little black circle things are like rubber bands so they've come off, so it's got two small indented circles now round the bottom which looks better than it did.

I had that ^ ... its shite, and says on the back of the box "for display purposes only does not function as an aerial"

Most of them say that though :) This works fine most of the time, the only time I have problems is in an area where even the huge mast that used to be on the car struggles :p

It's only been on a week or two so will see how it goes, if I get any real problems with reception I'll just swap it for one of these other longer ones.

I bought one simular after that one, that was short but still picked up good signal... dissapointed though as 3 weeks later its gone gold from black! so i just put my really long old one back on.. ffs.
