Should my handbrake lever have a boot on it?

Probably a bit of a stupid question, but should my handbrake lever have a rubber or leather boot/gaiter on it (ph2 172)?

As it stands, I can see into the chassis under/around the base of the lever which seems a bit untidy

Should be a plastic clip on cover iirc.

Yes it should. Think there is a nice Alcantara version available in the group buy section.
