Show me your prospeeds...

  VaVa
It's a road system. Mine has a decat though, so is fairly loud. My old ProSpeed was fairly quiet, but more restrictive (actuually goes down to 2" diameter in the rear box). Piper is 2.5" straight through.

pay attention fella, i currently have a ktec stealth thats only 4 months old

Eh? What's your point? you asked if it was road/silenced and I said yes?

How much

I paid £250 for my Prospeed, although not a straight through system like that, however I'm sure he would of charged less for such a system!
£250 not straight through?was that just back box?

No, it's silenced, cat back mid sport, i'm not 17 ;)

I've had:

Standard: fell off
KTec: Looked chav
Janspeed: as above but free
Magnex: Heavy
Prospeed: Perfect

I think I'll stop while I'm happy LOL

I AM GOING TO PROSPEED ON MONDAY TO GET MY KTEC STEALTH TAKEN OFF AND A VERY QUIET SYSTEM PUT ON, ALL I AM TRYING TO DECIDE IS TO KEEP STEALTH OR CUT INTO BUMPER!

Ok all got that ;)

What Day said.

I love mine, but realise now I'm looking to sell the car that ultimately a stealth would have been a better option.

You paid a deposit to Prospeed? ;)

  172 Race Car
No deposit paid why?

not selling the car anytime soon, its everything i want right now. if i ever need something more practical/bigger we will get rid of the mrs Fiesta for it. My Clio stays, i enjoy it too much. thats why im spending money on another exhaust. Need it to be abit more civilised for loooong journeys.

And i mean long, were traveling round europe in it next year

Im not keen on stealth systems, sounds like the exhaust is blowing. I would have cut in Prospeed like SBV116's.

Get prospeed to build you a stealth system?

Its a normal exhaust with teh tailpipe turned down, it shouldnt be the stealth bit that makes it sound different, lol...

Here is the post from the thread i put up when i got back from having my pro speed stealth on my first 172.

went to see Charlie this morning, and i must say him and his team are by far the best people i have delt with in regards to exhausts.

i got there for 9am and he double booked me with some one else who was due in but assured me that i would get sorted too, so i turned up @ 9am after being guided in by one of the other members of staff ( s**te at directions would be a fair description of me ) and the car went on the ramps straight away.

i was able to watch them the whole way through from putting the wadding into the back box all the way through to welding the final stabiliser ( sp ) type bracket on.

the system i went for was a stealth system as i am not to keen on the exposed tail pipe look, it was fitted in just over 2 hours which i thought was impresive considering charlie arrived a bit late. the total cost was £318 and i must say i am very imppressed.

i wanted a quiet system so that i am still able to use my car to go down to cornwall and that sort of stuff with out getting a head ache and so on, charlie reasured me that it was not a problem and at the same time i also wanted it to have a bit of a note to it when i put the power down again not a problem he said.

end result a perfect system, and to think i was actually thinking of going to longlife or infinity.

top job lads, many thanks from a very pleased customer.

got some pictures attached from the build stages.

The Quality and note of that system was the reason i went back and got one on my second 172.

If you are worried about the noise side of things just tell him you want it the same as mine, He will know what you mean.

When the bends are put into the pipe i was told that it does decrease the i/d of the pipe, the angle of the pic does not help but it was the same as my current pro speed which does not have any squashes in the pipe or on the bends either.

I know its just the tail pipe thats different! What im saying is if I saw a 172 roar past I would look to see if it had an aftermarket exhaust, visually you can't tell with a stealth system, although i guess thats the idea!

Seriously I know there were a few teething problems with the design, but I'm sure they're all ironed out as lots of people got the exhasut after me and have seemingly had no problems. The only thing I can think is that mine wasn't done by Charlie himself..... and trust me... there's welds and then there's welds!

If you did that repair yourself fella! its a very good job!!!!:)

hey justin, just wondered if that exhaust made a difference to the bhp or not? and how quiet is it when ur inside the car? - fitted aftermarket one once (DIY) and sounded terrible inside da car, never going for DIY again :)

also heard u mention your from bristol? just wondering where u got your exhaust done?, and where abouts in bristol u from ?

cheers

As above! My hanger design is shite and I had to tack the backbox to centre section joint to stop the box twisting down.

Yup. Cheap and cheerful tbh. My GDI/Piper jobbie knocks spots of it in terms of build and sound. Although mine wasn't built by Charlie himself... Andy@GDI said he'd not seen many bad exhausts from Charlie to be fair.

i think I was a tad unlucky, but ultimately they use a standard size silencer and it's too heavy to only be supported from one side imho.

  Monaco Blue 172
mine's sounding pretty rough at the mo so i'll be paying them a visit as per lifetime guarantee!!

two visits later and it's been slightly redesigned... centre silencer now has cones on both sides. got £20 for my trouble as well. hopefully that's the end of the matter ;)

p.s. i'm thinking of selling the decat if anybody wants it...
