Show Prep

Right first show of the season next week and I need some advice on prep.

The plan:

(Saturday - Day Before)
Rinse
Wash with meggys gold class
Rinse
Dry
QD & Clay
Polish with SRP
Rinse
Dry
Sealant
Wax

(Sunday - Show Day)
Once over with Smartwax One
QD & buff to shine

Any comments on the process and also what is the best wax and sealant (low-mid price) for a black car?

Thanks

Almost spot on buddy, never need to dry prior to clay as after all you are only going to get it wet with lube then rinse it as you go
One top tip that i always use now thanks to JimWD's recommendation, is to rinse the car with an open ended hose to allow the water to sheet. Makes the drying process quicker

Don't dry between rinse and claying - it aids lubrication and reduces the possibility of marring while claying.

Don't wash between SRP and LSP (Last Stage Product).

You can't go wrong with Chemical Guys' Blitz Spray Sealant for looks and durability. Failing that, a nice wax like Natty's Blue on a budget. Lasts well, looks great.

I find SRP leaves a lot of residue so I thought a quick rinse after would be good just to get rid of the dust.

Only reason I thought you had to dry before claying was the tutorial on DW was a dry car :L

Will have a look on i4d/pb in a minute for that product ta.

If you're buying from PB, go for Natty's Blue buddy. Well worthy wax (say that five times quickly!) and all for £15!

SRP leaves a lot of dust, but will only leave a hard to shift residue if you apply too much of it.

But bare in mind that will be around 5 days postage time buddy. If you need to for this weekend/week, it might not happen.

You're getting far to quick for my liking sir ;)

Who me? ;)
Just been outside all day working on the father in laws A3 3.2 V6 and just walked through the door to see Simon's thread, was actually surprised to see no response after 30 minutes....

Call me the early worm lol

I hate Polished Bliss..... they have some kind of witch craft that draws you into spending hundreds of pounds on more and more products, don't forget that the postage is 3-5 days once packed and shipped out....
