Silver car advice

  Z4
I've got a silver audi tt and I'm considering spending a little money on some detailing products but I'm in two minds, is it really worth it on silver?

Here's my usual routine:
2 bucket/sponge method, (usually use a cheapish shampoo, turtlewax or something)
rinse with clean water (watering can!)
then polish it with some megs nxt gen polish.
then clean the windows with cheapish cleaner

Turns out quite well, but what could I do to give it that WOW look?

I hear lots about EGPs and SRPs, claying, and pcing, but I'm not sure I'd really notice any difference on a silver car?! Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm going to get some of this http://www.detailedobsession.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=212 as I hear good reviews,

and I'm getting http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/poorboys-wheel-sealant-wheels.html to protect my wheels.

Now I know I should probably buy a couple of washmitts, and microfibre towels to apply and remove the polish yeah?

Cheers.

Get some clay mate, did it on mine as there were alot of tar marks and it came up a treat. Also on a nine year old car ( in my case) alot of grime etc had tinted the laquer slightly, went over it with a pc and it came up like new, nice and shiny like:).

ive tried loads on my 172 (titanium(grey silver lol)) and claying it does work if you car looks absolutly s**t but if you keep on top of it wont make much difference. i tried alot of stuff from cheap to expensive hand car washing gear. I found that it never made a really good difference, the only time it really got the show room look is when it got machine polished. thats the route to go if you want the best out of a silver car.

i usually use
AG car wash
AG spr
AG egp
Megs nxt gen polish
Megs quick clay kit
and a window cleaning thing

use wool mitts and microfibre clothes for applying everything

I think you would find a noticeable difference if you machine polished the car then sealed it in with a good wax

Buy one from halfords 9pound down near me for one, or put a lot of elbow grease into it...polish like your life depends on it lol

Now I'm no expert...but most things from Halfrauds are utter toss! And for £9, they definitely are...

I'm a pretty good hand polisher tbh, but it would be nice to get it professionally done, and sealed, then I could just top it up every now and then.

You got the right idea really mate.

Once its all corrected for you all you've got to do is keep it clean and top the finish up with a wax every so often. Ask around on here theres probably someone local to you who could do it
