I went down the VPN route last year and it worked fine for a couple of races until F1 blocked a load of IP ranges. Not sure if the situation has changed but there's scope for them to just pull the rug from under you regardless.

Yeah they seem to do that fairly regularly. Wish they’d just grow some balls and go fully streaming but hey ho I guess Sky pay them a lot to lock brits out of the service.

I had a look at that. They’re currently doing a six month offer at £26 a month for sky sports, after which it goes back to £35 a month.
It gets better though. That is to stream in 720p “HD” like it’s 2010. Want full HD? Another £6 a month. 4K? Another £9 a month.
So, f**k that. I’m going to do my level best to pay for F1 TV Pro and use that, because I do think that paying a reasonable amount for streaming is fair. If they block me from doing that too, meh, C4 highlights or piracy it is.

Buy basic package, usually the shite & kids channels =X
Add sports in HD =2X after watching UHD, HD is like SD
Add UHD package =3X it’s a complete con!
Where SKY really screw you is if you renew mid contract & that new 24 month contract looks good until the discounts applied start to drop off about 6 months before contract ends & you cannot get out soon enough.

They did offer me there Sky Essential package for £15 a month which basically just free view from what i could tell.I said can you add Sky F1 in HD onto that and they said no and would have to get the signature package,then add that and then i would have to pay extra to have HD on top of that.
I just gave up and said no just cancel the whole sky tv i have,why do they make it such hard work.
So now i will just go with freeview on my tv and get the Now F1 then cancel that after the season ends.I was told if i cancel they will over a better deal,so will see what they do.
I have looked into getting the FreeSat record box also which i can plug into my old sky dish.

Thats pretty much what they said mine was going up too, I called cancellations 3 times offered 3 different deals.
Ended up on all same package at £65 month but 500 broardband instead of 350.

I ended up renewing two weeks after that post for that price. Took a lot of effort though.. suddenly that price wasn’t available and was £40 more. I simply said if you can’t get it back to that price then i’ll leave, and they magically did.

The days of £120/40 a month subsidising others can FO, usually get it kicked back down to £85-90 then the yearly cost of living increases on top🤬

Posted my old 2TB sky Q box & bits off earlier along with another hub or something found under cupboard.
Today was FF installation day & on the Netflix speed test currently seeing 330+
Engineer asked why only BB explained the ballache previously endured.
After 10 mins looking at options managed to add Netfilx ultimate & all the sports on top of the basic package for total including FF £58 😳😳👍
He mentioned the speed might jump to 500 as well but not that you really notice difference from 3/500.

If you go freesat you’ll probably need a new LNB on the dish. I’ve got one sat around somewhere if you do need one, or if anyone else does. We just went streaming only in the end.
When I cancelled my broadband, I quoted prices from other providers and also for new customers that were much cheaper and for double the speed. He said once they had enough new customers from deals they would give better prices for existing customers 😂

I believe it's the 1TB box. I'm honestly not bothered about staying with them. They would have to cut it in half at least for me to stay. Freesat is a one off payment for the box and it has 90% of what I need from Sky anyways. Then I'll just get F1TV and sort something for the football.
