Sky + Help!!!

hi everyone me and mrs are thinking about getting sky + from sky...anyway it is currently 99 from sky plus 10 per month subscription...the previous tenant in our rented house has sky plus cos we have two leads coming from the box so anyway if i got one of ebay for a cheaper price woyuld i still be able to use it without a 10 fee from sky or will it not work cos it needs registering etc etc please can someone help me on this many thanks

It wont work "out the box"

The recording only works via the paid subscription.

Unsure how they go about it if they havnt fitted it. I assume it will be no difference then normal, dont forget the subscription is levied if you have 2 or more premium channels.

cheers for that mate strange as to why they are flying all over ebay and people are getting them for no much less than a brand new one!!! so you defo have to have subscription!! would sky be pissed if i purchased one cheaper and asked them to bill me 10 per month? would they do that?

As said if you subscribe to 2 or more premium channels the £10 is waived. You only pay an extra tenner if you have 2 sky+ boxes.

ring up sky and ask about any offers at the moment, I've been installing alot of "A Grade" sky+ boxes over the last week.

They're just refurbed boxes, and are more reliable than the brand new ones lol.

Am sure they can offer you a nice deal

Have you currently got sky?

If so, phone up and cancel, when they ask why, say you want Sky+ but you aren't paying for a box or £10 a month.

They'll probably offer the box, installation and no monthly fee to keep you (did with my dad)

just phoned sky and was cheeky they said the 10 per month is for multi room and they would offer me and brand new sky + box for 49!!! which is think is a bargain really installed completely free as well cos i will take the above 10 per month subbi!!

Im pretty sure the £49 box deals are the Refurb boxes. (They come in brown boxes)

Basicly when you take there multi-room you get free install.
Dont forget you will be locked into another 12month contract with Sky.
Subscription charges for not having 2 premium channels is £10

hi there guys just wanted to give you an update sky offered me and my dad the box brand new for £49 installed free and i have to pay 10 extra per month result dead happy they are installing next week yippy!!!

Are there any deals for the HD box? Cheapest i've seen it is £299.
